My name is Vinicius, but most people call me Vini!
I am a PhD researcher in Business Management with a focus on Human-AI interaction, combining expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods to explore how technology shapes job applicant experiences in personnel selection. Proficient in IBM SPSS, R, and Python, I conduct advanced statistical analyses and create compelling data visualisations.
My experience spans business development, algorithm development, knowledge sharing, and coaching, alongside delivering engaging presentations. I am fluent in English, Portuguese, Italian, and Spanish. I hold Italian and Brazilian citizenship and have indefinite leave to remain (settled status) in the UK, with British citizenship currently in progress.
Beyond research, I have a passion for traveling, experiencing new cultures, and trying different cuisines. I also enjoy hiking, playing five-a-side football, kayaking, and go-kart racing.
About me
My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, where I graduated with Distinction (UK First-Class Honours) from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Canada. Recognised for my leadership, I actively contributed to student life as President of the International Student Society, earning awards such as Emerging International Leader and Society of the Year.
Eager to expand my global perspective, I pursued a Master in Global Management at Antwerp Management School in Belgium, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Research Methods at the University of Liverpool. My academic path culminated in a PhD in Business Management, where I investigated Human-AI interaction in personnel selection. This is a critical area at the intersection of artificial intelligence, organisational psychology, and decision-making.
Throughout my PhD and tenure as a Graduate Teaching Fellow in Liverpool, UK, I conducted quantitative and qualitative research, presenting my work at conferences while mentoring students. My expertise spans statistical analysis (IBM SPSS, R, Python), data visualisation, and algorithm development, equipping me to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world applications.
Beyond academia, my professional background includes leadership roles in business operations and data analytics. As a Co-Owner and Head of Operations & Finance at Gran Sorte Loterias in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I had the opportunity to enhance financial inclusion in underprivileged communities. During my time as a Data Analytics Specialist at Advansat in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I refined my ability to leverage insights for business performance optimisation.
